Rafting on Cetina
By Omis, the river Cetina flows trough a gab in the steep mountains, and has its estuary in to the Adriatic Sea in the middle of the town. Since the water is quite fresh (about 18 degrees) and the chance of getting wet by wild water rafting on the river, we recommend bringing extra clothes. Who can go one rafting? Well, everybody between 8-80 years can participate. Rafting tours are available from April to October. The Cetina is classified as a category 2 river, which is at the lower end of the scale (0 = calm water).
Makarska
It is pleasant to stroll through the old town of Makarska, with its narrow streets, old houses, small shops, restaurants and cafes. In the evening the waterfront turns in to the centre of town, cafes, restaurants and discos are always full. The many sights and a lively bustle on the market will make the visit an interesting experience.
Trogir
The old town in Trogir was listed as a UNESCO world cultural Heritage site in 1997. The old town in Trogir is a unique city museum, everybody who likes culture and historic monuments, works of art, original architecture and nice alleys will be pleased to visit Trogir.
Split
The palm-fringed Riva, it the primary meeting point for locals and tourist in Split, the many cafés and ice shops are always packed. The true soul of the city, is however found in the narrow streets in the old town and the Diocletian Palace. Numerous shops, souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants invite visitors to linger a while. The old town of Split is like the old town in Trogir as a unique cultural monument and is also on the UNESCO World cultural heritages list.
Dubrovnik
The city of Dubrovnik is among the most well known attractions in Croatia, the old town part was the first Croatian sight which got included in UNESCO’s world cultural heritage list. The old town of Dubrovnik is surrounded by high walls which were built in the 13 Century. It has retained its original style. The old town includes several medieval churches, monasteries and palaces.
Mostar
Another interesting day trip is a visit to Mostar in Bosnia. Mostar is the largest city in Herzegovina, the southern part of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The symbol of Mostar, the “Stari Most " a bridge over the Neretva River is a symbol of the peaceful coexistence of different ethnic groups in Mostar and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Nationalpark Plitvice
The National Park Plitvice Lakes is situated far from contaminated and noise-polluted cities and industrial plants. This, together with the climate, might be one of the reasons why the National Park is inhabited by unique plants and animals universe, which makes it one of the most valuable areas in Croatia. In Plitvice almost untouched natural landscape can be admired. We highly recommend planning a visit to the National park, even if your final holiday destination is Dalmatia.
